You know that as soon as I heard that S Moose was releasing a new book that I had to get my hands on it! And Refresh was such an amazing, heartbreaking friends to lovers story. It don't always make for easy reading but I was glued to the pages.Caroline and Mason have been friends forever. Best Friends. But there was another person who also existed in that best friend bubble with them. Caroline's husband, Evan. Their lives are thrown into upheaval after one perfect night, that Evan doesn't come back from. Mason and Caroline are both grieving hard for Evan... but Caroline has been inconsolable. Evan steps in to help her shoulder the burden of grief.
These are two absolutely broken souls. And as they come together to heal you can feel the sexual tension between them grow. It is a palpable living thing. But both fight it as hard as they can, neither feeling it is proper. Together they will take you on a roller coaster of emotions - their banter will make you laugh, their tension will make you hot, their grief will gut you.... and as they heal so will you.
This is another winner from S Moose. I definitely recommend it - especially if you are looking for a book with feels!

What an emotional story! I loved Refresh! I think S Moose outdid herself with this one. It's a beautiful story filled with love and angst and totally spot on regarding everything going on with police officers lately.
Simply amazing! I highly recommend this book to anyone. Care has to fight so had and Mason has to hide more than he wants. But it's an amazing story.
I rarely am compelled to write a review but felt like I had to for this book. I do not understand the 5 star reviews. I read about 2 books a week and could not get through this one. I tried over a couple of days, thinking that I must be missing something. It is riddled with typos and poor use of tense. I understand the genre but believe books can be well written with thoughtful language choices and tight editing. Please don't make the mistake I did.
This is a definite must read. So emotional many ups and downs with a fantastic happily ever after. I also enjoy reading and recognizing parts from around our area it makes it extra special!
This book was just okay for me. Caroline and Mason were okay characters. I liked how their relationship went slowly. Evan was not a strong character for me. I didn't feel any connection to him and it seemed like Caroline didn't either. Some of the side characters were hard to keep track of and sometimes Mason was called Ryan which was his last name so that was confusing. The police case added some interesting twists, so that was good. This was my first book by this author and I feel there is some promise in her work. Definitely a quick read.
OMG, this story was so intense, exciting, had so much drama, suspense, secrets, lies, things that would come out and crush hearts. This is a great story about a young couple met in high school, they marry, start their lives together, Evan and Caroline, are like young couples, he is a police officer working hard, long hours, but there are secrets, then tragedy, Caroline is so in love with Evan, you will be so drawn to their story. Beautiful journey, well done on an excellent written book.
The story was sad. Caroline’s husband Evan is killed in the line of duty as a police officer and she is stuck in a bad place because of it. Mason was Evan’s best friend and comes in to help take care of Caroline and they find much more in each other than simply the best friends that they’ve always been.
But, there were some really funny scenes though that made me laugh long after I finished reading like this one where Mason has just watched Caroline pleasure herself for the first time
“Damn, girl.” I quickly look up and see Mason at the door with a bowl of popcorn. He bursts out laughing and I’m ready to die. Please kill me.
I liked this story, but I didn’t find myself as immersed in it as I usually feel while reading. The story felt choppy in places and there were changes in time that just happened and there wasn’t any indication that there were going to be such large lapses. I felt at times like I was reading a book that wasn’t really written at the reading level I normally read, BUT I still felt like the story was worth reading.
